Reinstalling on UEFI based computer?

OK so I'm pretty computer savvy but this has me concerned. If I have W8 on a laptop and it's using EUFI (still don't know why it's better than BIOS) can I reinstall windows without trouble? I want to put it on a bigger drive. I've tried ghosting but this drive is...weird....there's like 5 partitions on it and the pc won't accept the new ghosted drive.

UEFI stores the windows licence which is linked to a hardware code so if anything changes in the pc its scrap.

    Try turning off the uefi.

Google "turn off uefi computer make" ie turn off uefi hp.

You may have to use the orginal drive to turn off eufi secure boot

    or

    Just install Linux

No virus, no malware and no licence issues.
