Anyone know what causes sawing wood sound in the house at night?
Sometimes, I will heard some sawing wood sound whenever I am in my bedroom. The sawing sound always appear on the night time(probably beause I only go to my bedroom at night) the sound have been for like 1 or 2 months.
I live in the city and there are no forest nearby. My house is a 2 floor terrace house. I think the sound came from the roof or outside the house.

Maybe you have a tree that is rubbing against the house while the wind blows. Go outside the check around the roof edges for anything that might be rubbing up against the house.

The old expression "sawing logs" comes from the fact that some people sound like that when they snore.
So the obvious explanation is that you are hearing someone snore . . . . if you live alone and have thick walls, it would have to be a ghost, vampire, zombie or other ghoul lurking in the walls or attic.

Sounds to me as if you have either bats or squirrels in your attick. Both can be troublesome and make weird sounds. And both are busy at night.
