is it abuse to not take your child to a doctor?

All my childhood and adolescence, I had neurological problems - especially that of being unable to sit still.

Fast forward to when I became an adult -

I took myself to the doctor for worsening pain and spasms in legs. MRI scans discovered my entire spine was riddled with tumors. My specialist said I would have been born with them and should have seen a doctor years ago when something could have been done, but it is too far gone.

So, is it abuse for a parent to not take their child to a doctor?

    It isn't abuse not to take a child to a doctor if a parent didn't know about the illness

    It's neglect for sure - just like withholding food or other basic essentials that a child needs.
