Isn't it funny that Democrats are trying to take credit for the drop in oil prices, when they had nothing to do with it?

In fact, the primary drivers of the rise in US supply(which led to lower prices) were the increase in drilling and fracking, both of which were heavily opposed by the Democrats. The mocked the push for drilling("Drill, baby drill") and claimed that it would make no difference in prices. Private drilling rose 61% since 2009 while federal oild drilling fell 6%. Improved drilling techniques and fracking improved the yields of wells(and revitalized some older ones), and the Democrats were very much against both. So how can they claim any credit for something that is an effect of the very things they opposed?

Isn't funny how cons blamed Obama for the high gas prices. Just like when gas prices rose and fell during the Bush era, Wall street has more to do with oil prices than politicians do.

Presidents have very little control over oil prices. This was true under Bush and it's true under Obama. That doesn't stop people on both sides of the aisle from taking credit or assigning blame.

Cons spent 6 years blaming the price of oil on Obama and now that the price is down Cons claim he has nothing to do with the price of oil. That's not funny. That's the truth.

Spare us your absurd distortion of the facts and blatant hypocrisy. You weren't interested in parsing the facts when people like you were blaming Obama for gas prices going up. That's why I couldn't care less what you have to say about prices now.

NO ONE will even try to name a nationally-known Democrat who has not openly said energy prices SHOULD be HIGHER - while they were at their record high. THAT'S why it's downright silly for anyone to suggest a Democrat could have had ANYTHING to do with bringing costs DOWN.

  • What is funny is that cons spent the last 6 years blaming Obama for the high oil prices, now suddenly, "he has nothing to do with it."

I really like the president's "all of the above energy policy", record breaking energy production for six years straight caused the drop in oil prices.

When the price went up, conservatives claimed that it was the President's fault. When the prices dropped, conservatives say he did nothing to make it happen.

The Saudis are using their influence to get OPEC countries to keep prices low. They have seen a spike in U.S. domestic oil production and want to make it economically beneficial to stop production and rely on THEIR supply.
