Is astrology a science?

Of course it's not a science. Even astrologers only make predictions based on what is supposedly more likely true for other people with Pluto in Virgo or whatever. They have no idea WHY. A proper science would want to know why. Actually there have been scientific investigations of astrology and they have shown nothing one way or the other.

Just look at Chiron, the minor planet discovered in 1977. Astrologers have worked that into the system too, on the basis of nothing except who the mythical Chiron was.

It also strikes me as rather like religion... just as there are many religions in the world, there are many astrological systems, so which one, if any, is right? And perhaps there is a clue... too many people like to think there is some controlling god or force rather than just accept the fact that there isn't, life is a random accident, impersonal physical laws are all that there is, and just wonder at the beauty and majesty of what IS. Astronomy is far more wonderful and intriguing.

In other words more than half of young people are ignorant and stupid about something which ***everyone*** ought to realize is pure foolishness!

Astrology is simply crap. It always was, and it always will be.

Anyone who denies that is shamefully ignorant.

No it is not a science nor will it ever be. It is the rambling ignorant garbage spewed out by con artists and charlatans. People who prey on the misguided and the gullible for profit and gain. It is a fraudulent abyss that sucks in the weak of mind and the desperate to capture their wallets. The movements of planets and moons have nothing to do with shaping ones future or bringing luck or love. If one believes in astrology then they also believe in witches and warlocks.

Science is based on observation, facts and repeatable experiments, so no it has nothing to do with astrology. Astrology is a faith, like religion.

Though they may say that, no spirituality is there in Astrology, with its assumed characteristics of manifestation when the planets take up certain positions on the Zodiac of 12 Signs. Anybody can make a "spiritual belief system" as the gullible public is attracted to spirituality. 99% of them don't know what they say nor know what they mean as what they say. Star of the day is misinterpreted as well as Sun Sign, Moo n Sign or the Ascendant - because none wants to know what it is. The imagination of the layman-customer runs wild with his own imagination & inventiveness. These are the outright lies.

Astrology is a GAME, with NO scientific background.

However, ASTRONOMY, which IS a science, came from Astrology.

ASTRONOMY is the SCIENTIFIC aspect of studying stars. ASTROLOGY is the mumbo-jumbo GAME part of studying stars played by tricksters and liars.

Actually, astrology IS a science -- the science of separation gullible people from their money.

Astrology is fortune telling.

Some fortune tellers read tea leaves, or cards, or the lines on your hand, and astrologers use the positions of the planets.

Science defined as observations ,identification , experimental investigation and theoretical explaining of phenomena .it uses some factors that science studies , but by definition it is a pseudoscience
