Christians, do you agree that this is the first time in history (2000 years or so) when an atheist can speak up without fear?

    That depends on the span you consider to be part of "this" time period. Atheists were speaking up, without much fear, a century ago and more, and in Western society have generally been able to do so since.

    No i don't agree. It happened about 4000 years ago while the door on the ark was closing.

    Of course not. You might want to look up David Hume for just one of many historic examples of atheists who were quite successful despite - or because of - their public atheism.
