Did you apply through the official DVLA website or a site offering a 'service'
Costs for a first provisional licence via the DVLA is £34 on line or £43 by post.
If your name is misspelt you must contact DVLA directly and tell them of the mistake, do not go back via an agency as they will just charge you more money and probably not pass on the information to DVLA.
If you have used any site other than the one below you've just been relived of extra cash; you can't say scammed because there are enough warnings on these 'service' sites telling you they are NOT connected to the official site

No not since 1st October. If you are that worried look it up for your registration number on the DVLA website but give it about 5 days before you do. So far as the website you have used is concerned I sorry but you have been suckered. They get away with this scam because they "provide a service" I've nearly been caught out on this scam for US visas and a couple of other things that I know to be renewable without charge. ie over 70 years of age driving licence. I only cottoned on when they asked me for card details.

Like that other guy said, go to the DVLA and deal with them directly. You've probably fallen for a scam.

Ask that they return the extra money. If you don't ask, they won't return it
