question about facebook and group chats?

I have someone i want to block/unfriend but i have to do it sneakily. I am in a groupchat with him that i cannot leave. If i blocked/unfriended him, would i be removed from the chat or will it just not let me see anything he sends?

    it will just make it so neither of you will be able to see what each other type - and eventually he will figure it out - facebook is not a good place to try and be sneaky
