It's possible.

The environment was different back then. Based on air samples in ancient rocks and such, it appears there was more oxygen and under greater pressure. There may have also been less UV rays. Thus we have in the fossil record giant dragonflies, sloths, beavers, reptiles, etc. Therefore it's conceivable that the first humans were also larger than today's version.

Actually, the story of Adam and Eve is not historically true. We carry within us the history of Human Origins. Our DNA, and the variation we see within it in the world, shows us humans evolved in Africa over 200,000 years ago, and moved out of Africa at least 60,000 years ago. Add to that the hominid fossil record, and again, one comes to the conclusion the Bible is not a science text, not designed to be taken literally, but a series of stories with moral underpinnings.
