Can I run with my dog?
I have a 5 year old Labrador who is active and very playful. For most of her life she's been used to 40mins walking each day and over an hour on Friday nights and weekends. Sometimes after running around a field a few times she starts panting but is still more than happy to trot along, should she have the stamina to go for a jog? Do I build this up gradually?

Sure, build it up gradually like you would with yourself. If you are just starting out yourself it shouldn't be much of a problem.
However since some dogs can develop joint problems with age, keep an eye on this.

Yes, you build it up gradually, especially for a dog that's gotten so very little exercise throughout her lifetime. You might also want to get her to the vet to make sure she isn't getting arthritis. And remember - never run her during the heat of the day and keep her off pavement as much as possible.
