I have to edit the question. I have a 30 inch waist. My stomach only extends about an inch past a flat stomach, and the top set of abs is visible. I understand that a body mass index isn't the best measure for your health because people who have much more muscle could have the same BMI. I don't really think I'm fat, other than the little bit of a belly, I don't really have a whole lot of fat. So does this deeper explanation help?

Yes, you are overweight for your height. Start walking first one-half mile, increase it to one mile when you think you can do that, and keep increasing it when you feel comfortable. Start looking at the skies, the stars, and the morning sun. Measure your weight at least one a month to be if you have lost weight. Do this until it become a habit or start enjoying it. It should become a life-time habit, and will work without pills or additional exercise. Good luck. I was a college professor.

You sound a little thick to me. Of course, maybe you are perfectly healthy athlete with tons of muscle. Or maybe, you are starting to get overweight.

Keep this in mind. If you gain 5 pounds a year, you will be 280 at 38. It can happen. It happens to a lot of guys. Maybe, you should start eating healthier and watching the scale.
