Can someone explain to me how this is going to all turn out to be a good thing?

I'm an Eagles fan. We have lost Trent Cole, Todd Herremans, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, and Nick Foles. We have signed Byron Maxwell, Mark Sanchez, and Sam Bradford. Is this a nightmare? Is Frank Gore (and his Wonderlic score of 6...tied for 3rd all time lowest)...smart enough to realize that Chip is creating a disaster in Philly? Who gives anything for Sam Bradford...let alone a starting QB who is 15-9 and is still under his rookie contract? Some Cowboy fan has to of hacked into Chip's computer and is making these moves

It's not a good thing, but it's not the end of the world either. Foles was injury-prone and a product of Kelly's system. He's not objectively good, and the Eagles won't really miss him either. Bradford, while having much in common with Foles, has a better arm and a higher ceiling if he can stay healthy. Big if, but there you go.

Trent Cole is done. They were smart to jettison him when they could. McCoy was already overrated, and getting rid of him instead of paying him was a good decision. Kelly's system creates high numbers for RBs, and whoever they stick in there will excel, in the end. Plus, they actually won that trade, because they needed a stud LB more than they needed an overrated RB.

The big question mark is losing Maclin. You got me there, no idea, no excuse. Byron Maxwell is a solid piece though, but I hope he's not done grabbing DBs. Maxwell is solid, but not a number 1 lockdown kind of guy.

I know people are blasting Kelly, and he certainly overpayed for Bradford, but I'd give him a chance to actually put the team on the field before hammering his moves. He's creating something, and only time will tell how it all comes together.

Kelly is smarter then you think. Bradford isn't the next qb of the Eagles. I think he is merely a piece to another trade for the Eagles to move up in the draft for Kelly's boy mariota. I think there's a solid chance the Eagles could also land demarco Murray as well to replace McCoy. We got the secondary help we desperately needed in maxwell and a potential stud at LB from the McCoy trade. The biggest impact is going to be maclin. Like I said don't read into it too much because I'm pretty sure Kelly has some tricks up his sleeve.

I'm not an Eagles fan but I was completely shocked at how things turned for what seems to be the worse right now. I would like to believe that Chip has something bigger in store for the Eagles somewhere down the line. I don't know how far down that line or where exactly that line is, but it's somewhere.

I could understand cutting Cole because he is getting old and less productive, but the rest of the moves seem pretty illogical. Maybe Chip will surprise us all and get Philly into the playoffs but if they have a bad season like I expect, then Chip should at the very least be on the hot seat for dismantling them.

He's won with players that aren't "his guys". Every coach has them, every coach has no problems getting rid of talent when they aren't "his guys" (don't buy into and/or don't fit into his system).

Free agency has just started, and the draft is still a month away. Don't give up hope yet. Let me put it this way: you may think your team is reeling now, but my team (CLE) is further behind than PHI- and the best thing we can say is we picked up an OK WR (Hartline) and the "future of the franchise" is in rehab...

  • It won't be anything good. Remember that 4-12 season from a couple of years ago. I see a repeat of that.

I'm not an Eagles fan but I'd say your team is pretty much screwed.

It is called addition by subtraction.
