If the Oklahoma University students had spit on/burned the American flag instead of making a racist video, would they have been expelled?

Do, or do not, Americans have the right of free speech?

Liberals have one set of rules for themselves, and another set of rules for everyone else.

Burning the American flag is a right to free speech. This was settled in the Texas v Johnson court case. He would have had to obtain a permit for the burning, but yes, he could. Schools are VERY strict on racism and bullying. I recently read this thing where a girl was bullied by some dudes and the father discovered who those dudes were. He contacted the principles and colleges they were headed to. Needless to say the majority of those dudes were suspended from school, had scholarships taken away, and admittance to college revoked. Schools don't mess around with that kind of stuff.

The Oklahoma frat had free speech and they voiced it.

No government pressed charges against them.

    No arrests were made.

But 'free speech' does not mean that the words you voice are without any consequences.

The university took offense to the frats actions and they were well within their right to expel them.

If they were videotaped spitting on or burning a Flag, they would have been expelled and you know it. Free can't always mean "Free", otherwise, our society would remain uncivilized. Find something more important to be concerned about.

They would not have been expelled for that, it is true. On the other hand they would be expelled for encouraging people to chant about murdering bureaucrats. That would be a bit over the line as was chanting about lynching black people.

  • You're just a racist white supremacist who would have agreed with them if they'd murdered a black person for nothing other than them being a black person so you shut your evil f*cking scum cave maggot @ss up. Get the f*ck out of here with that false free speech bullsh*t you're pretending to believe in. White supremacists, you disgust me.

Meh, maybe if they used a bible to light the flag or something but wetting a burning cloth seems kind of pointless.

But of course, that isn't what happened is it?

Even in Oklahoma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon is a notoriously democrat fraternity. With such members as Max Baucus (Democrat Senator), JCW Beckham (Democrat Senator), John Hickey (Democrat Governor), David & Mark Pryor (Democrat Senators), George Smathers (Democrat Senator), David Bonior (Democrat Representative) , Allen Boyd (Democrat Representative), Hamilton Jones (Democrat Representative), Charlie Stenholm (democrat Representative), Gilber Patterson (Democrat Representative), William Guy (Democrat Governor), Paul Johnson (Democrat Governor), John Lynch (Democrat Governor), Sidney McMath (Democrat Governor), Ivan Allen (Democrat Mayor), LQC Lamar (Democrat Statesman), it has a long history of ties to the Democrat Party. In fact, even the Gallup Poll has ties to it, named after Fraternity member George Gallup.

They have had numerous scandals, from cocaine trafficking, to hazing, to alcohol poisoning, to sexual harassment, to sexual assault to even rape. They've also had numerous cases of racism against other races other than this one, including having a "Cripmas Party" to celebrate Southern California based African-American crips gang last year, and singing racial slurs to minorities in 2013, and even a demeaning racial party against Martin Luther King Jr.

In nearly every instance this behavior was taught to them by the leaders of their Fraternity.

It's about time this Democrat Charter loses their Chapters forever, but I'm sure the living aforementioned Democrats will have something to say about that. Some of them are already saying the Republican President of the University is singling them out because they are Democrats.

They probably would have been thrown in jail instead. Its illegal to deface an American flag on American soil I believe.

I find it disturbing you think it's alright for people to actually chant things like that. How would you like it if it was the other way around. It was wrong.

free speech is a government thing, not a private thing...

they have the right to say what they want, and the school has the right to expel them
