Harry Potter Deathly Hallows question?

i think the plan was for snape to kill voldemort. snape was supposed to "defeat" dumbledore making him the master of the elder wand. thus, he would have the advantage when the time came to kill voldemort.

Sooo Harry's scar is one of the holcruxes therefore harry must die in order for at last voldermort to die because without destroying the holcruxes a part of voldermort's soul is still around and he will just keep coming back. When he was struck by voldermort he just had had the philosopher's stone in his hand so that is the only reason why he did not die but only the holcrux part died. That is why dumbledore placed the stone inside the snitch for him to figure out how to open it and use it. Anyone can kill voldermort after all the holcruxes were destroyed because he is not as strong and he'll be scared of dying which will only make him weaker.

First, Harry FINALLY understood why Dumbledore trusted Snape!! Even though Dumbledore was dead and couldn't explain why I think Harry just trusted and believed in Dumbledore enough to sacrifice himself for the greater good of everyone else!! If Snape was willing to sacrifice himself for Dumbledore, why shouldn't Harry do the same thing?? By sacrificing himself to Voldemort, Harry allowed Voldemort to destroy the horcrux (Harry's scar) that Voldemort never intended to create. So protected by his selfless act of sacrifice, Harry lives and his scar, a horcrux, dies!!

I think it all clicked - Harry was the final horcrux and he had to willingly die for the horcrux to be destroyed. Also, in his selfless act he protected his friends - just as Lily had died to protect him, he died "for the greater good". His own death meant that one day, Voldemort could be destroyed as he was just 1 "man" (no horcruxes, no eternal life etc).

In doing so, Harry was able to provide an extra protection to his friends - they were unable to be harmed after he had died to save "them".

Dumbledore knew much more than he let on - e.g Slughorns memory. He just needed that final piece of information - how many horcurxes had been made. He already knew about them but he just needed to know how many he was seeking. And Dumbledore's eyes twinkled (briefly) when Harry told him in GoF that Voldemort had taken his blood (and thus Lily's protection) and used it to create a body - this ties Harry and Voldemort again. So now thye share blood, protection, horcrux - it all comes down to neither can live whilst the other lives - Voldemort is in a state that is neither life nor death, and for that reason cannot be killed (horcruxes). This state can only be ended when certain objects are destroyed, and Harry is one of those objects. This means that while Harry survives, Voldemort cannot truly live, and cannot truly die. Harry dies, and comes back to life. Harry's death is the destruction of the last object that keeps Voldemort in his non-life/non-death state, so Voldemort truly lives when Harry stops surviving. Then Voldemort can be killed. Dumbledore knew about the prophecy, knew about horcruxes, strongly suspected that more of Voldemort/his powers were inside Harry (sharing thoughts, scar hurting, dreams, Parseltongue etc) - so Dumbledore just put his info together and knew Harry had to die (and believe he was dying) to destroy the horcrux.

As for the elder wand - Voldemort believed that the wand was transferred through murder/death. So Snape killing Dumbledore meant the Elder Wand was Snapes. Voldemort either did not know or did not consider that Draco was the rightful "owner". Ollivander even said that the history of the wand was bloody as it was such a sought after item- "Oh yes, yes, it is perfectly possible to trace the wand's course through history. There are gaps, of course, and long ones, where it vanishes from view, temporarily lost or hidden; but it always resurfaces. It has certain identifying characteristics that those who are learned in wandlore recognize...Whether it needs to pass by murder, I do not know. Its history is bloody, but that may be simply due to the fact that it is such a desirable object, and arouses such passions in wizards. Immensely powerful, dangerous in the wrong hands, and an object of incredible fascination to all of us who study the power of wands". Remember, Harry tells Voldemort that Draco was the owner and killing Snape did not suddenly make Voldemort the master of the Elder Wand.
