Why is it haram for two consenting unmarried adults to have sex with each other?

Islam allows sex among married couples only. Man is the best creation of Allah Almighty. He must obey His code of conduct or he will fall to level of animals. Living like humans is the first qualification to become a Muslim.

Because such an intimate act is reserved for a spouse. Sex outside of marriage can lead to disease, unwanted pregnancy etc. and even if your checked and clear and using contraception it's still not permissible.

Islam regards the family unit as extremely important. The harm being done is not necessarily in every case but then if you have casual consensual sex with one person then why not another? And another? And another? And when you sleep with them your sleeping with everyone they have ever slept with too.

It may not be an emotional connection for you that does not mean to say the other consenting person is not though.

In Islam we do not take first steps down wrong paths. Eg is one drink harmful? Not really but it can lead down a slippery road to many a harmful thing so we avoid completely. Same goes for sex outside of marriage.

Leads to the breakdown of marriage as a union...

Leads to the breakdown of society...

Leads to a Muslim being a hypocrite for not doing exactly as the title suggests, submitting to the will of God.

What's not logical about that? Is this not a topic you should have fully explored before reverting if you find it so illogical?

You don't already see the harm its done all over the globe? Sexually transmitted disease, unwanted pregnancy, abortion, promiscuity, illegitimate children, objectification? No? You see none of that already existing?

It's haram because you are disobeying God, sin is going against divine Law otherwise it wouldnt be a sin

Allah made fornication a sin so that is why it is haram and all haram things are harmful to you esp your soul and your hereafter

Fornication can result in unwanted pregnancies, the man may not be accountable to her , and after you have sex with that person you will think about it after you get married to someone else or fantasizing about someone else while your with your spouse, it leads to regret,dishonor, bastards, breakdown of marriage, etc

Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim may Allaah have mercy upon him said,

"Fornication and adultery combine all evils; weakness in commitment to the religion, lack of piety, corruption of manhood and the decrease of praiseworthy jealousy. You will never find an adulterer or fornicator who is pious, fulfils his promises, is truthful in his speech, maintains friendship or has jealousy over his wife; he will be characterised by lies, deception, betrayal, accepting prohibitions and not being mindful of Allaah." All these characteristics are consequences of fornication and adultery.

There are also other consequences such as:

• Incurring the wrath of Allaah The Almighty.

• Corruption of one's wife and children.

• Poverty and gloominess of the face, which will be apparent to people.

• Darkness of the heart.

• Becoming insignificant in the eyes of people and in the sight of Allaah The Almighty.

• Loss of the characteristics of chastity and righteousness and becoming known as a sinful, betraying adulterer or fornicator.

• Not being classified as a believer in general.

• Being decried as an evil person.

If something was rendered haram, it is haram because Allah rendered it haram. The other reasons are not the real reason why it is haram.

Salam It is haram because sex in Islam should be done after marriage only Adultery and fornication are strictly forbidden in Islam.

It's haram because islam and the "islamic authorities" want control over every aspect of your life. They feel like they can control you through, clothes, forbidding numerous things and especially controlling your sex life. Christians did the same thing for centuries before islam.
