Ramadan: How do we stop the brain drain from Muslims countries?

8 AnswersRamadan10 months agoWhy can't feminists coherently propound why they are "pro-choice" in the abortion debate?
Abortion provides a convenient way out and this is how the vast majority of women are using abortion in this day and age. If abortion is restricted by law, people will have more reason to avoid this kind of behavior or think twice about it. The logic is clear when you think about it.
When a child is born the biological father is saddled *by law* with many responsibilities to provide for the child until that child reaches adulthood (18 years). If he fails to pay child support on a timely basis for those 18 years, a father can be locked up in prison as well. This means that the father has to labor for 18 years by threat of imprisonment. According to liberal standards of choice, is this just?
Pro-choice feminists argue that if a mother is going to use her body to carry a child for 9 months, she has the right to choose to undergo that burden. What about the father? Surely his body is also being used to work and provide income. Surely he faces a significant burden for 18 full years and if he refuses, it is his body that is thrown in a cage. If choice is so important, where is his choice?

21 AnswersLaw & Ethics3 years agoDo you believe that secularism leads to enlightenment?
One of the myths followed by many atheists today is that the period known as the 'Enlightenment' had ushered in an unprecedented age of scientific thought and political freedoms in reaction to the oppression of religion. However, what they don't appear to be aware of is that most of the Enlightened thinkers were religious themselves; many only opposing the institutions of their times.
While there were many thinkers attempting to divide the religious sphere from politics, many still saw atheism as a deviation from the very principles they were proposing. For example, the father of American political theory, John Locke, was very much opposed to the idea that atheist could be part of secular society:
"Lastly, those are not at all to be tolerated who deny the being of a God. Promises, covenants, and oaths, which are the bonds of human society, can have no hold upon an atheist. The taking away of God, though but even in thought, dissolves all; besides also, those that by their atheism undermine and destroy all religion, can have no pretence of religion whereupon to challenge the privilege of a toleration." ("A Letter Concerning Toleration")
