    In English, it can properly be translated either as Jehovah or Yahweh, with Jehovah being the more popular.

    Israel in one of their rebellious moods, hot the Satanic idea it was sinful to pronounce the divine name or even to write it. So they took to leaving out the vowels in the name when written.
