Do you think impending sickness and/or death has a smell?

Question

Before my mother died, her house had an unusual smell.  Her house smelled old and sick and like it wasn't clean.  I thought it was because she had been sick for a while and didn't have the energy to deep clean.  
IMy house is very clean, in fact I have a housekeeper that cleans my house every day with name brand cleaning products. 
Last week when I walked in my front door, I smelled the same smell as when my mother was dying.  It's creeping me out. Do you think I'm missing something in my cleaning or do any of you think this is a strange occurance.
I'd like your opinion.  And again, I'm freaking out, please don't send any sarcastic answers.

I don't think it has anything to do with how clean your home is or what products you use. Our brains absorb a lot of information constantly, associating memories with smells is just one of them. You at some level had your mom on your mind and that smell came to mind, it doesn't mean that smell is really in the house but rather the strong feelings you had with the experience allow your mind to play tricks on you. I don't believe impending death smells, I do think we occasionally get an intuitive sense of when a major event in our life will occur.

I have been around many people just before they died. You hit the smell correctly when you said it smells like the room was dusty, stale air and not cleaned. It smells that way because the dying person was not able to clean or dust and the air was stale.

What you are experiencing is just a memory that came back for no apparent reason. This is common for most people. You will smell something that no one else smells. It is nothing more than a memory of that smell coming to mind for no apparent reason.
