High systolic blood pressure?
I'm 18 and my top blood pressure reading is usually 140-150s all the time. But my dialostic is 80s. The doctor told me that I control my top blood pressure.. And as long as the bottom is in the 80s to low 90s I'm fine. Is this true? I'm worried about my top numbers.

Elevated systolic blood pressure is not uncommon in teenagers, so you might not even have hypertension. It's hard to diagnose in teenage years. To answer your heart rate question: 62 beat per minute, given your level of physical fitness, it just fine, and may be on the high side. I exercise quite a bit and have a resting heart rate in the Low 50's. As long as you aren't light-headed or anything, there's nothing wrong with your heart rate. To give you an idea, Michael Phelps' resting heart rate is around 35 to 40 beats per minute.

Accurate about the diastolic number and probably isn't a problem with the systolic number above 140 at the age of 18. However, the longer it is above 140, it may be harder to control as you get older. High blood pressure is hard on the kidneys and heart at any age.

That's definitely high blood pressure. Your doctor should be tracking it to find out why. Over the long term, that high a blood pressure will cause you health problems in the future. Get it treated.

The top number is usually caused by stress or excercise, you should take your BP when you are relaxed.
