Why isn't there an American comic magazine similar to shonen jump?

Shonen jump published new chapters of manga every week in Japan. It's distribute all over the country and millions of people buy it every week. I can't believe that nobody in America has tried to replicate this system. The main reasons why comics aren't extremely popular in America anymore are that you can't get them anywhere, they're expensive and you have to wait a month in between issues. If there was a weekly magazine publishing comics here and it was in every supermarket and newsstand, I guarantee that they'd be a massive hit. So why hasn't anyone tried this? And how could you go about doing this?

DC and Marvel are currently publishing weekly comic series, although it is not like Shonen Jump where multiple chapters are published in a single magazine.

Marvel is publishing Wolverines, a weekly series about the anti-hero Wolverine's allies and friends.

DC had 3 ongoing series for 2014: Batman Eternal, Future's End, and Earth-2: World's End. All three ended their runs last week. Afterwards, DC has started a new weekly series today, Convergence.

DC also have several weekly digital-first series (Wolf Among Us, Sensational Comics, Injustice, etc) but those only have 11 pages each.

One of the main reason for the lack of weekly titles is that a single artist cannot draw a issue per week, since American comics typically are inked and colored. That was why all of the series mentioned above had a rotating crew of artists.

The same can be said with the writers of each series, as the writers are normally used to writing an issue per month. For Batman Eternal, there was 5 writers on the series, each working on a different plot thread: one handled the supernatural priest subplot, one on the villains story, another on the techno-virus subplot, and two working on the main story that brings all of them together.
