Why call black people African American?
My mother was from Poland and I don't think of myself as Polish American.
We are just all Americans. Right or wrong?

Yes, we're all just Americans, but have you noticed that black people don't always get treated like they are? Have you faced much anti-Polish discrimination?

Don't call black people African American. Most black Americans are not really African Americans. African Americans are people from Africa with US citizenship, for example if a Nigerian came to the USA and got citizenship, he/she would be an African American.
Most black Americans are just Americans, just like white Americans.

I don't want to be called African American since I'm not from Africa, plus that would rule out my Native American and European heritage. I prefer black or mixed.

I don't believe in it. But then again, a lot of blacks aren't really "Americans" the same as whites and other races either. As a matter of fact, many American blacks probably aren't loyal to any country that deep down doesn't want them. They are simply surviving and would do the same no matter where they are.

I prefer my name whenever possible however I don't object to being black or AA.
You may think of yourself however you wish. Ditto the Irish, Italian & Mexican Americans.

when that black subsaharan immigrant in poland says hes polish... what crosses your mind? keep in mind, hes not simply speaking about being a citizen, adopting a nationality... but hes "just as polish" as actual polish people.. and if anyone polish disagrees...why they are just 'racists".
Americans ARE white people. and its racist hate that says otherwise.
as it is.. "african american" is a FAKE identity..one with very specific meaning in the usa...its the means by wich all racially black people can enjoy the institutionalzied racist hate that exists in the usa thats justified by various racist ideologies that pretend to be "anti racist".
BLACK people WANT THIS, they DEMAND it, they will call it RACISM if you dont provide them with this racist hatred...they call "anti racism". all the double standards, the special treatment, the entitlements, the laws that DONT protect white people... all of it is based on this identity thats provided to them with the term 'african american"
the second your mother walked into the usa... she inherited the identity of PERPETRATOR and criminal... and so have you. and everyone black, wether they are descended from a us slave or they were right behind your mother walking into the usa for the first time... or they arent even black but mixed race.... inherits that identity of victimization that "african american" provides by with the ideological racist dogma of 'so called "historical victimization".
we arent all just americans... americans are white people and they get to inherit that identity of historical perpetrator to wich you are to be personally held accountable today so that black racist vermin can justify their racial hate as they act towards their own racial interests.... and vote for the people who farm this hatred for power.

You can be labeled by your African tribe of ancestry if you know it.
If not your tribe or country then it was considered African.
