Waffles are crumbly and sticking to the non-stick griddle.?

I use a half-cup of egg whites, a half-cup of milk, and olive oil with the complete mix. I can only surmise that I must use melted butter in the batter to avoid sticking. Please provide any better solution that you have discovered.

Try making your own mix instead of needing to buy it. The taste is much better and you won't have all the added "undesirable" things most mixes have.. additives, preservatives and God only knows what else.

    INGREDIENTS Nutrition

    SERVINGS 6-8 UNITS US

    1 1⁄3 cups flour

    4 teaspoons baking powder

    1⁄2 teaspoon salt

    2 teaspoons sugar

    2 eggs, separated

    1⁄2 cup butter, melted

    1 3⁄4 cups milk

    DIRECTIONS

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.

Separate the eggs, adding the yolks to the dry ingredient mixture, and placing the whites in a small mixing bowl.

Beat whites until moderately stiff; set aside.

Add milk and melted butter to dry ingredient mixture and blend.

Fold stiff egg whites into mixture.

Ladle mixture into hot waffle iron and bake.

I wouldn't even post this recipe if I didn't use it myself.

If you really want a do ahead mix for using to make pancakes, biscuits, etc... try this...

Home made Bisquick... good stuff Maynard! I use it all the time for camping and such. :)

Follow the package directions, which I suspect calls for melted butter and a whole egg with the mix to get the best results.

Are the amounts and types of ingredients the ones called for on the box? If not, thats why you are having a problem.
