If people were born with one eye in the center instead of 2 eyes (left/right). What would our lives be like?

If we were born as cyclops. What would our lives be? I'm assuming vision would be similar somewhat, right? We'd have to be more careful. I wander if eye protection for constructional/science/landscape/electrical work be a law if we were made that way. What's your opinion on this?

Update:

I don't know why the word "electrical" was cutoff like that in the description.

Update 2:

I don't this is not categorized as "optical" related things.

We would see in two dimensions instead of three, because of lack of depth perception. Otherwise, our lives would be pretty much the same, with the added precautions for the single eye.

Life would be more difficult & dangerous as we wouldn't have 3D vision/depth perception......there would be more totally blind persons due to disease or injuries.

Terrible, without binocular vision, our ancestors would be helpless.

Vision would be two-dimensional: no depth perception.
