Stomach problems ruining my life.?

Okay,so I have this problem where I have to use the restroom a lot to go number 2. Sometimes I will use the restroom then literally 30 min later have to us it again,it gets so annoying and makes me feel uncomfortable in public. When I was younger I didn't have this problem and this is effecting me going to school because of the many times I have to use the restroom. I have gone to the doctor and have had a colon autopsy to check for any infection or bacteria and nothing was found. I do get anxious around people and my body will begin to twitch a little and my nose twitches to. Any one have suggestion on how to stop this or what it may be?

If your colonoscopy was clear, then it is most probably IBS. Irritable bowel syndrome is an umbrella term for mild to severe problems with the lower digestive tract. Symptoms vary between individuals and can come and go, they are often exacerbated by stress.

Commonly, IBS is triggered by a certain food, for example gluten or lactose, and it is definitely worth systematically cutting these out of your diet for 5 days to see if your symptoms improve.

Medication can be prescribed (pain killers, anti-nausea, anti-diarrhoea etc) and counselling/advice can be provided to help with the anxiety/depression that IBS patients can suffer from.
