building custom pc for gaming?

Hey all,

Budget would be around 500-600 (more like guidelines.. so no need to oversweat about it, but would be great to not exceed it)

For now I have put in my basket intel core i5 4460 3.2ghz .. around 190 eur. and graphics card MSI GF GTX960 2GB - for 205 eur .. (already 400eur.. so looks not so promising to stay in 600eur margin, but could be possible to try ?)

Maybe i`m going over the board with these two ? In computers i`m not really that smart.. So any suggestions would be appreciated

I looked that gtx960 would be good performer with games, so I was interested in staying with that.. But how about the processor .. is the intel i5 that good to pay more then for AMD processors ?

And about the motherboard - Can a 100-150 eur motherboard be good performer with that i5 and gtx960 ? if yes, which one would you prefare?

When looking at full price after all the components it`s going towards 700 already, and i`m not quit sure if i`m willing to pay that much .. Any cheaper alternatives that don`t secrifice performance that much ?

I would be happy if I could run gta 5 decently (of course to run it great would be awesome) but i`m being modest.. At least when I checked it at - http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=13... - with this processor and graphics card it said it would run on high ..

As a noob in all this I would appreceate any help :D thanks ;)

Update:

Oh, and how about extra cooling systems ? Do I have to buy those too, or the parts and case come with already good cooling ?

I`m just a little buffled about this.. Is it a must when building computer or advisible when overclocking and stuff like that ?

i5 4460 and GTX 960 are a good pair for 1080p gaming! As I can see that you are not choosing a K series CPU, you do not inteng to overclock and that's a feasible option for that budget! Don't choose an expensive mobo ( look somewhere for sale) and other components. Get a reliable PSU and that's it! AMD have outdated feature set and are just performing well at their end cycle. Choose Intel at this current time! Glad to help you!

Don't worry about cooling stock coolers are good enough when you don't overclock.

If I were you I'd try to save money to increase my budget to fit the i5 and GTX 960 because you will have a solid system then both decent enough for gaming but also with a processor that will make everything run nice and fast. The cheaper AMD processors are not as good and you will notice it.

Any motherboard is good enough as long as it has the right CPU socket, you can just take a cheap one you find.
