Could I get the job?

I applied at Starbucks last week and had an interview yesterday.

So I had the interview and I smiled and nodded, I shook their hands and said "it's great to meet you" and was polite. At the end I said "have a great day, I hope to hear from you soon"

I feel like I did pretty well in the interview, when they asked me at the end if I had any questions for them I said "What could I do to exceed your expectations for me if I were to be hired?" The main interviewer smiled and said "that's a good question" then the manager of the store I was applying for told me, I kept eye contact with her and nodded and smiled at the end.

Then at the end they said "We have some more interviews today, in 24-48 hours you'll receive a call if we decide to move forward with you"

is that a good sign?

It's mixed. It is great that you were professional. They like that. Not to burst your bubble, but I would think a place like Starbucks would be more inclined to hire on the spot, especially if they have multiple positions open. It's not as though they have to do a background check or employment check. They probably don't even contact references. But, "interviewing other people" can be a mixed response. Sometimes they really do have other people to interview, then they will narrow the candidates down and make their hiring decision. Other times, it's a nice way of saying, "we're moving on to other candidates." I have known many people, including myself, who have had really good interviews, asked all the right questions, and didn't get hired. I do think it's positive that they gave you a time frame as to when you may hear back from them. If you don't hear back within 24-48 hours, call them to follow up. Sometimes employers give a time frame in sincerity, then they get busy or bogged down and don't call when they say they will. This happens a lot.

Good luck!! I hope you get the job!!

It sounds like you were very professional and that they really liked your question. The end remark is probably something they say to everybody, regardless of how the interview went. I'd feel pretty good about getting a job though.

Dude, only that Starbucks manager can answer this question. Good luck wwith the job though, but you won't get an answer on here. You just have to wait.

it could be. they're also probably following their protocol when in a hiring process with a lot of people and they might say the same or similar things to other candidates.

you never have to accept a job someone offers you. so it's still good to apply to other places until you hear they offer you a job, and you decide to take it.

    good luck!

I wouldn't read much into it

They did seem impressed with how you conducted yourself but its also standard for an interviewer to let you know your being "considered" and that "they will get back to you"

    No, it is meaningless.
