You don't know history very well, do you. The Roman Empire split into two halves, the Western and Eastern Roman Empires, in the time of Constantine, with Rome the capital in the West, and Constantinople (today's Istanbul, Turkey) in the East, encompassing all the territory from Greece through Palestine and Egypt and around to modern Tunisia. The Western Roman Empire was overcome by the Goths, Visigoths, Vandals, and Franks. Christians had little to do with the dismantling of the infrastructure. The Eastern Roman Empire, on the other hand, while beset by some of the same actors and by Islam, carried on until 1453. We call this today the "Byzantine Empire", but that is not a term they used -- they were Romans. It was Christian from the time of Constantine until conquered by Islam. That's about 1000 years longer than Rome lasted. The Christians did not undo the advancements of the Greeks and Romans.

    You are quite mistaken.

    Forgive me.

Only a fool could mistake the Roman Catholic Church for the truth, when they have access to a Bible.

Why do you think the RCC kept the Bible from the people for hundreds of years and persecuted to death those that sought it?

Why do you think the RCC lost most of its power and influence when, at the cost of much blood, the Bible became more freely and widely available?

  • Just like what is happening in the Arab world right now. Muslims are just Christians in blankets.

If it weren't for the Christians causing the dark ages the world would be at least six hundred years more advanced. Imagine what that would be like?

If you expect anyone to take you seriously you must provide credible citation for your claims. Otherwise they will just pass you by.

The Greek and Roman Empires - like every nation, kingdom and empire of men - crumbled under their own weight from sinful living.

BUT THE CHURCH HAS OUTLIVED THEM ALL. SHE IS INDESTRUCTIBLE.

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee that I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Wars and plagues had just as much to do with it as religion.
