are gays religious?

Just like straight people - it depends on the person. Its only strict denominations of christianity that are anti gay. Many christian churches are open and affirming. There are also gay friendly jewish temples, most buddhists are lgbt freindly and there are even some gay friendly mosques. Go to any gay pride - there are always floats from lgbt friendly faiths. For many lgbt, it is actually their religious faith that takes them through coming out.
