Is the confederate flag as a symbol of conservatism more threatening to liberal media than the n-word?

The confederate flag is a constant reminder people can rebel if they do not want to put up with Washington D.C. ruling over them. The Federal government doesn't want the poplous having that constant reminder displayed in public view while they pass more and more laws many do not agree with.

"Signs and symbols rule the world, not words nor laws." - quote by Confucius.

They've cancelled the damn 40 year-old Dukes Of Hazzard show and quit selling the General Lee toys because there's a Confederate flag on the roof. Talk about hypersensitivity! There was a meme on Facebook today with a rainbow flag photoshopped onto the roof of the car. I wonder if that would be enough to appease squeamish liberals who weren't even alive when that show was on the air? I doubt it. They'd have to rename the car something other than General Lee. Frankly, I'm surprised those fools even know enough history to know who General Lee was.

And why do conservatives follow and seem to praise the Confederate battle flag, a symbol of treason and sedition against the US and in the same breath call themselves patriots?

Does it belong hanging anywhere near any city, state, or federal government building? No.

Has no problem with a private property owner hanging it on their property.

It's a rather weak argument that the democrat created and used rebel flag is conservative. It only seems that being consistent in saying I , or you can burn, fly or crap on any flag you have is your business. We conservatives defend any American's right to use their flag. So I guess that means the Rainbow flag is ours too? Since we defend it equally with the rebel. Or, US.

Neither are threatening. Both, however, are rather insulting to all those who fought and died for the freedom and equality of all Americans.
