How much does a nurse make in the UK?
I hear they're expensive, do nurses make enough to support themselves and have extra like here in America?

Hard to say as it depends on qualifications, experience, what precise role they work in, who the employer is, where in the UK, etc. But in the NHS, which is by far the largest employer of nurses in the UK, the starting salary for a fully qualified registered nurse is £21,692 (being the bottom point of Band 5 on the NHS salary scale). In London there is a 5-20% supplement. Agency nurses can also earn more, at least in hourly terms. For more senior roles the salaries get well into the £30-40k bracket, and for very experienced nurse practitioners and matrons even into the £60k+ range although that would be clearly the exception rather than the rule.

Depends totally on what specialities the nurse has, and who the employer is. Agency nurses earn a lot more than NHS employees.
