I m writing an essay investigating how much fact there is in the crimes of Batman villains/do they link to real criminals. Therefore, I help in deciding which issues of the Batman comic book will provide me with the best information.

The comic books alone won't tell you this. You need to find books or articles ABOUT Batman comics, written by scholars or critics, who have investigated this. For that you'll need to know how to use the resources of a library. If you don't know, ask a librarian to help you. They are experts at finding info and they'll be glad to help. Sounds like a cool project.
