Would you recommend buying a Stihl MS 170 with a hard case, or a Stihl 180 CBE with just a Scabbard?
My budget will allow for either a 170 and a hard case, or the 180 and a Scabbard. The 180 is more powerful and has easy start and the new chain tightening system. The saw will primarily be stored in the garage and only brought out for work. I am using it for small trees, brush and limbs. Other brands are not an option.

You dont need a case if you dont want one . I have a Stihl saw I have used for ten years and it doesnt have a case. Buy the saw that most fits your needs.
