to run through the basics very briefly, there are two ways to make investments. the first is to buy and sell stocks. this is done by researching the stock market, which can be found easily through google, and determining what stocks you want to buy and how many. if you have an apple device then you can use siri to track stocks as well. you buy stocks through a stock broker, who is a person that works in the stock exchange. you call them, they buy stocks in your name, and that's just about how it works. keep in mind that the better the company, the more expensive the stocks are.
the second way is to put some money into an investment banking account. not sure if that's the exact name, can't remember it at the moment, but i know what it is. pretty much you put your savings into this account, and someone who works at the bank uses the money in that account to buy and sell stocks. i have one, it costs like 2 bucks a month. this way is slower but it gets you the money easier. the more money you put into the account the more stocks the bank can buy using it and therefore the more money you get as profit. this is, ofcourse, also riskier as you're entrusting your money to someone who can easily lose it due to some bad stock advice.
there are a lot of factors to consider when playing around in the stock market. seasons, for instant, are big when it comes to product sales. november and december are the best times to sell stocks due to the holiday shopping, and early the next year is the best time to buy due to the lower market values. service related stocks are best around summer and worse around fall, etc etc. then you have marketing announcements, things like e3 for gaming. its best to buy stocks before these kinds of announcement then sell stocks as they announcements are made due to increased interest.
if you're really interested in stock exchanges, do some more research on the subject on your own. but unless you want to be a stock broker, don't expect to become a millionaire just by investing in certain companies. it's more or less a money making hobby that gets you a little bit of walking around money every so often.
