16 pregnant can I apply for a council house?
So I'm about 15 weeks pregnant, living in the Uk and I was wondering if I could apply for a council house and go on the waiting list without my parents consent? I don't want to bring a baby up in my parents house.

I don't know why you don't want to stay with your parents but you really should think about staying with them, at least for a while. A newborn baby is hellish hard work and you'll be exhausted for the first few weeks. Having other people around to watch the baby so you can get a break every now and then is vital. You'll go crazy otherwise. Plus, your mum has been through all this before so she might be able to give you good tips, or tell you what is normal and what isn't. Maybe in the future you could set yourself up in a little flat or something, but life will be so much easier at home to begin with. Oh and there are very few council houses to go round these days and even having a baby won't guarantee you a place. So you might be waiting a while.

Just wow. So living off the government is better? Your country is screwed up.
