What can help clear my skin?

I have pimples but a lot of acne scars. What could I do to completely clear this? My friend who has clear skin says he showers a lot and drinks a lot of water and says this is why he has clear skin. Could showering a lot help?

    i use sulfur soap and i sitll get pimples but i think it has really helped me i was with it at morning and night
