I don't think either but it definitely not the control group.
**independent variable = the one condition you change = one group uses alcohol and one group doesn't
- dependent variable is the one variable you measure or observe
control variables are the variables that do not change during the experiment : gender of the participants, age of the participants, time of day measured etc..
