Have you considered the military?
since you'll have a degree in the field, you could try for officer's training and be a psychiatric nurse in the Army or other branches and help soldiers.
once you finish your schooling, you could apply to officer candidate school (OCS), train for about 12 weeks (depending on which branch you apply for) to become an officer, and work in their medical department.
or, you could potentially work at a hospital for a couple years, gain some experience, and then try applying for direct commission.
browse the branches websites for more info, here's one - http://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/amedd-categ...
or look here for direct commission officer info -

since you're in college, if you're interested in the military, talk to a recruiter. they could give you guidelines on what you need to do to become an officer, and what you should focus on in school. sometimes, if your school has job fairs for students, recruiters may attend those for kids interested in the military. ask a counselor for more info or look on your school's website for more info.

Not much, its the basics meant to be the foundation to something dedicated. If you want to be a nurse, you MUST get into a nursing program.
