Why are the current wave of refugees from Syria/ Afghanistan etc so determined to get to Germany, when they have managed to get to Europe.?

Germany is the richest nation in Europe and it welcomes asylum seeker and refugees like no other country in the EU. Also, Germany has much to offer the skilled worker. Among the Syrian refugees I've seen interviewed on TV by the BBC and ITN - there are many with high quality skills, in computers and so forth. Such people are urgently needed in what is a rapidly growing market. Got the latest iPhone? You know what I mean, no need to explain.

But there's much more. The people we see in the TV news coming from Syria are not working class - they are people who can afford to pay their way and have done so, often very high cost. Most have left everything behind except their wives and children and the clothes they stand up in.

Not all those fleeing Syria are 'Muslims' - many are Syrian Christians who have every reason to flee - for they are not just a target for their own evil government, but are also a major target for ISIS which hates Christians far more than any other group.

Between Syria & Afghanistan is a distance of a thousand miles, at least- like from Chicago to Texas . Learn that first. Only a congenital idiot clubs them together.

Why they come to Germany? In search of employment & Germany is very short of labour for its burgeoning industries, invites them indirectly.

Unaware of 2 types of Europe?

The poor such as Greece versus the rich Germany, France.

Because Germany pays the highest benefit $450 per person per month. Thats why they are so aggressive about getting out of Hungary but the President rightly wants to sift the wheat from the shaft and see who is who amongst them. That is the law, you must separate migrants from asylum seekers.

Because as one refugee from Iraq correctly put it

"Germany is the only place that want us"
