I'm a rookie on my high school cross country team and just ran my first 5k in 27:38.57. Is that a good time or is there room to get better?

Thats really slow but distance isnt about speed. Theres always room for improvement and its amazing how the cardiovascular system works. It can be pushed to extreme limit but it best performs when you slowly build up speed/time/miles in the training process

Source(s): Im 21 training for my first full 26.2 mile marathon. Im currently at 11 miles and on schedule.
