Mixing different story ideas together?
I kind wanna mix different story ideas? Like the Japanese spirits with they fey? Now I would change things around so the spirits/gods of Japanese culture fit in with the fey world....do you guys think that could work out as long as I can make it flow correctly?

Sure. For an example of a book that does this, see Christopher Moore's "Coyote Blue." One of the main characters is a Crow Native American trickster spirit, Coyote, but deities from other cultures, including Ancient Egypt and Christianity, also appear or are mentioned in the book, along with humans.

Any combination of ideas or cultures can be made to work in a story. The only way to know whether you specifically can make a specific combination work is to try it and see.
