I teach preschool and this is the first time I've had a student who cannot hold or utilize scissors.?

She holds them in a way that makes it difficult to cut and when I try to get her to change her grip, she gets frustrated and gives up. Any ideas on how to help her learn to cut better?

Start with hand over hand and work toward independence. Give her plenty of opportunities to practice. I teach elementary school and a good majority of the students don't have good scissor skills because that used to be something you learned in kindergarten until it became academic.

Repetition. Not all preschoolers have learned how to use scissors.
