What is the melting/burning point of Black High-Density Rubber Foam Weatherstrip Tape? Is it safe to use as dryer seals?

The OEM seals just weren't good enough

    NO! the adhesive would melt off the first time the dryer is used. Then the rubber foam would get everywhere.

    Safe, as in a fire hazard or the like? Yes. I don't know the melting point. But as mermeliz says it will deteriorate and get messy. Get a roll of the metallic tape made for just that purpose at any hardware or building supply store. 3 or 4 dollars.
