Why are the Hobbit extended cuts re-releases in theaters in October on weeknights?

my issue is in not being able to have my grandchildren go do this....as they don't live in SoCal like me, and they have to drive far to go see it....they'd not get home til after midnight on a school night...I have gone to many special releases like this on a Sat. night, when there were already HUGE release 1st weekends...oh well

    So that it doesn't have to compete with movies being released during the weekends.
