What do you think about Anita Sarkeesian and Tumblr feminism in general?

I think Sarkeesian is a woman who has a lot of time on her hands, and how she chooses to fill it is her business. She's creative and apparently hard working. She is lucky to have a life where she has that kind of time and resources.

I find some of her analysis ALMOST interesting, but usually not. I haven't seen any of her recent work, because I don't care about it.

It's shocking that some people have such a violent response to her, however. Who cares if she wants to spend her time on talking about TV shows and games she likes, instead of tackling more important feminist issues.

I've effectively avoided all of that as much as humanly possible. The little that's gotten through the wall, though, makes me think that she's a deeply selfish, dishonest, attention-seeking-before-anything-else kind of person. I feel sorry for the actual people in her life. I don't know anything about the second thing you mentioned (and I assume I should be happy about that).

99% of the time, I don't think about them at all. I am a grown adult with a job and bills and a life, and I can think of better ways to waste my time than getting bent out of shape about a bunch of whiny internet feminists arguing with a bunch of basement dwelling losers over whether or not toys designed for children have too many poorly rendered digital boobies in them.

Simplistic one-sided views. Anita of course takes controversial views because they generate an income for her.

Some feminist I think are cool. Others not so much.

Anita is only doing what she's doing for publicty and publicity = money. And thats fine. If thats how she makes money the pro's and con's that come with it is going to be on her, not me.

They woke me up to a few hard truths that I'd been oblivious to - that there is still some serious sexism out there. I was one of those "Hurh, feminism is completely pointless now" men before all that :P

I think we do need to have some discussions about females in video games.

However I do not fully agree with her views.

Unfortunately, that doesn't matter because the attacks from "gamer gate" is far more effective advertising than anything she could have done herself.

Don't know who she is, but feminism is the **** of the earth. They are dogs.
