If there is nothing else holding it in place then it may be stuck with the gasket or sealant and need some gentle persuasion with a soft hammer if that will not damage it

Hi yes Timbo is right a leather faced mallet is what you need. hey so what happens when you get it apart.
what makes you think you are going to be able to fix it. as most Vw products need expert knowledge to fix anything computers are the issue in 99% of engine problems.
