Why is my mom acting like this?

Your brother is probably not as smart as you are and she knows it. She knows you can do better if you put your mind to it, where your brother truly just has a hard time with school all together. You are 2 different people and get treated differently.

You know you can pass math, but you probably just don't feel like putting in the energy. Your mom is trying to get you to see that if you fail, then you have to do it all again anyway, so why not put in the effort.

us mothers see our children with different qualities and abilities...such as your mother sees you with your schooling. Yet your brother has a different personality and she is not seeing that in him...For Example...My son is a hands on person...School should not have been invented...Could see he struggled greatly yet loved to potter around with Items and now he is a Builder... and yet my other son was great at schooling always learning and being an achiever in his own way... He is a Maths teacher. I would have to say she sees things in you both and her expectations are what will make you a stronger person and you own ability to have goals will be your achievement. That does not mean she cares any less for ever of you. Just sees different things you are both capably of doing..

Get help for math.

We can only GUESS, but your brother is none of your business. Maybe she realizes he's dumb, or too rebellious, and will never go to college.

You need to get some help, so you understand your math. Try The Math Forum, or Khan Academy.

More is expected from you. You must be capable of doing much better.
