Is Hillary calling Republicans the "enemy" dangerous?
I have been a registered Democrat since 1968, and although I have some philosophical differences with Republicans, I do not view them as the enemy, they are the opposition party. It is actually a good thing we have an opposition party in America, and not a single-party state like China, North Korea or Cuba. I have friends and former colleagues who are Republicans, and I certainly don't consider them to be my enemies. This type of party division is what George Washington warned about.

Almost all liberals understand what you do about having two opposing parties. The American Bald Eagle derives it's strength from it's two wings (left and right). With only one wing, no matter how powerful, the eagle will spiral to the ground and die.
Liberals, for the most part understand this. Ask any conservative, however and they will tell you all of the problems in the US are the result of liberals and that their country would be much better off if there were no left wing liberals.
That is the danger Ms. Clinton speaks of.

Republicans used to be conservatives that looked out for the best interests of the country. Eisenhower built the interstates. Nixon OKed the EPA and OSHA.
But since Reagan, their objective has changed from the best interests of the country to the best interests of the very wealthy. As they lose popular support with educated, informed voters, they have to resort to more and more extreme measures to get voters. Religion, race, and scandal.
After eight years of Obama, the Congressional Republicans have shown they no longer want to work together for the common good, they simply want their way, regardless of the impact. The government shutdown showed this.

Probably the first honest thing she's said in years. Democrats think of half the people they are sworn to serve as the enemy. Conservatives differ from liberals on many things, but conservatives truly believe that the entire country will be helped by their policy in the long-term. Even if liberals are right, and this view is wrong, their intent is for the good of everyone.
Liberals unabashedly hate the wealthy (check out some of Sanders' rhetoric) and don't care what happens to them. They figure they can fend for themselves, so they do everything in their power to hurt them to benefit the citizens they choose to represent (who just happen to always be their voting bloc).
Yet they try to portray themselves as the party of inclusion and kindness, and the feeble-minded among us fall for it. They are just clever hypocrites, for the most part.

I don't agree with using that kind of terminology, just like I didn't agree with it when Republican Tom Delay used it when he was House Majority Leader. It's counterproductive However in fairness to Clinton, the right has treated her like the "enemy" for 25 years, so it is only naturally that she would return the sentiment.

It's hard to take your claim seriously after two presidential terms of the Republican party making Obama the enemy.

Well we have two parties and both are run by corporations so they both are my enemy. When Goldman Sachs pays for both what is the difference. In most socialist countries there are a lot more than two, but not here. That would cost too much.

Obama has called the GOP the enemy before.
He treats the leaders in Iran that chant death to America better than he treats the GOP

I am gay.
Republicans, Born Again Christians, and Conservatives launched a culture WAR against me.
They ARE my enemy.

She has a point as the Republicans have been on a witch hunt for two years and can not find someone who will tell them what they want to hear.
