How can i alleviate the guilt?

Its been nearly one year since I've moved out of my home where my sister, dad, and brother in law lived. Im still a teen so im linving with my uncle and aunt. But my dad's a widow, and I feel such immense guilt for leaving him alone. I want to reach out to him but I dont know how. We havent spoken for months now and I dont know how to approach him because of all the misunderstandings between us. He never knew why I left because my sister always hid her blackmailing and emotionally hurtful messages from him. She damaged my mentally and I stood up for myself but the guilt of leaving my dad wont go away no matter how much i want it to

I'd say take the first step. Give him a call. If that's too hard, send an email/letter. It seems like you want to repair the relationship, and if you take the first step, you can start the healing process. Plus you will need to address whatever issue(s) that led you to move out in the first place. It's probably going to be somewhat difficult to have these conversations, but it's for the better in the long run

Just walk away. Never look back. Once you look back, you go the wrong way.

maybe you can try apologizing if you think it would help
