Should I play saxophone while I still have a sore throat from a cold?
I have lesson in the morning, but right now the throat's so bad and painful I can't even fall asleep. However it could always get better by morning. My question is - should I still play while my throat's all swollen and red? I have choir on the same day - I won't be singing to not put an unnecessary strain on my voice. Does playing sax work the same way for my throat or is it different?

Actually, the thing why they don't recommend you playing while you're sick is because, of:
Let's say you actually play the saxophone, then you get better, then you play it again. You just received more of the germs from your previous sickness back into your mouth. That's why they don't suggest playing it. Now, I don't really think that it places a strain. In my case, I think that you probably shouldn't.
