When can the Republican Party or just conservatives in general switch to being Non-Interventionist?

We've been too far spread for too long, with seemingly no positive outcome. In any case Democrats seem to have proved that they can't fully back out of a territory in about 8 years, so it's self-sustaining anyway.

The best way to stand out seems to admit that we have an internal threat, take care of ourselves, and sell weapons to our allies.

Update:

On the selling of weapons; I meant to our 1st world allies who are at or near tactical parity, but may not have the Military industrial complex to keep going indefinitely.

Libertarians are non interventionist and a lot of people from the right are leaning that way. Though I doubt they can pull in everyone from the right, it seems possible that they could become the dominant party on the right in the future.

Obama (and Hillary) went into Syria and Libya.

AND Obama is sending more troops back into Iraq.

Truman went into Korea (where we still have troops) and Kennedy went into Vietnam.

So, when can the Democratic Party, or just liberals in general, switch to being Non-interventionists.

You better pray Republicans don't back off the enemy is at our shores and they have an ally in the White House.

Were you away that Democrats have equally gone to War? AND Democrats are passing Republicans.

Too many entangling alliances, and too many mutual defense treaties make it difficult for us to pull back completely within our borders.

    I'd settle for "intelligent".
